How the engine's quorum rule turns three engine votes into one signal — and why the + suffix is rare on purpose.

12 min read · live widgetFoundations के reading-a-signal lesson में तुमने चारों signal categories — BUY, SELL, CONFLICT, NEUTRAL — और + suffix से पहली मुलाकात की थी। उस lesson में बताया गया था कि BUY+ के लिए "तीनों engines का एक-मत होना" और "high-conviction threshold पार करना" दोनों जरूरी हैं। दोनों बातें सच हैं। लेकिन वो explanation थोड़ी सरल थी। यह वो lesson है जहाँ वो सरलता खत्म होती है। तीनों engines हमेशा vote नहीं करते — कभी-कभी एक या दो abstain करते हैं। Quorum rule जो तय करता है कि कोई signal fire होगा या नहीं, वो अलग है cascade gate से जो + suffix तय करता है। और abstention और conflict के बीच का फर्क — जो पहली नज़र में एक जैसे लगते हैं — यही वो structural कारण है कि BUY+ सच में दुर्लभ होता है।
तीन engines, तीन संभावित अवस्थाएँ
हर signal-evaluation cycle में, तीनों engines में से हर एक — Indicator engine, Candlestick engine, Smart Money engine — तीन में से किसी एक अवस्था में होता है:
- Directional — engine एक स्पष्ट bullish या bearish reading देता है, सार्थक conviction के साथ। वो confluence में एक directional vote देता है।
- Abstention — engine कोई स्पष्ट directional reading नहीं देता। कोई pattern fire नहीं हो रहा, कोई indicator confluence नहीं, कोई structural signal नहीं जो vote करने लायक हो। Engine vote नहीं देता — वो इस cycle में बाहर बैठता है।
- Conflict — engine एक directional reading देता है जो बाकी engines के खिलाफ है। वो सक्रिय रूप से विपरीत direction में vote करता है।
ये तीन अवस्थाएँ इसलिए मायने रखती हैं क्योंकि engine इन्हें बहुत अलग तरीके से treat करता है। Abstention मतलब चुप्पी। Conflict मतलब विरोध। एक naive confluence model इन दोनों को "align नहीं" की एक ही bucket में डाल देता। हमारा engine नहीं डालता।
Abstention conflict नहीं है। चुप्पी विरोध नहीं है। एक Candlestick engine जिसे इस bar पर कोई clear pattern नहीं दिखता, वो bullish Indicator engine से असहमत नहीं है — उसके पास बस कहने के लिए कुछ नहीं है। उस चुप्पी को विरोध मानना उन setups को penalize करेगा जहाँ एक engine structurally चुप है लेकिन बाकी confident हैं। Engine इस फर्क का सम्मान करता है।
Basic quorum rule
जब तीनों engines आपस में असहमत होते हैं, तो engine को कोई भी signal fire करने के लिए एक minimum quorum चाहिए। Quorum के बिना, row NEUTRAL रहती है — engine तुम्हें बता रहा है "मुझे कुछ दिख रहा है, लेकिन act करने के लिए काफी नहीं।"
Quorum rule regime-aware है और abstention का सम्मान करता है। Concept यह है: जब दो या अधिक engines directional हों (abstain नहीं), तो कम से कम दो को एक ही direction पर सहमत होना चाहिए। जब सिर्फ एक engine directional हो और बाकी abstain करें, तो वो अकेला directional engine plain BUY या SELL fire कर सकता है — लेकिन सिर्फ plain, कभी + नहीं। Engine मानता है कि एक confident vote के साथ दो विनम्र चुप्पियाँ फिर भी actionable information है; बस max-conviction labelling का हकदार नहीं।
Quorum rule जो नहीं होने देता वो यह है कि एक अकेला directional vote दूसरे engine के active opposition के खिलाफ fire करे। अगर Indicator engine bullish है और Smart Money engine actively bearish है, तो abstention exception लागू नहीं होता — table पर असली disagreement है, और result CONFLICT या NEUTRAL होगा, disagreement की strength के हिसाब से। यह distinction Lesson 20 में detail होगी।
Cascade gate — BUY+ दुर्लभ क्यों है
+ suffix एक अलग rule से governed होता है जिसे cascade gate कहते हैं। दो conditions दोनों एक साथ सच होनी चाहिए:
"दो सहमत, एक ने abstain किया" नहीं। "दो सहमत, एक barely neutral पार किया" नहीं। तीनों engines को एक ही direction में directional reading देनी चाहिए। Abstentions allowed नहीं। चुप्पी agreement नहीं मानी जाती। Cascade gate इस बिंदु पर strict है — opposition की अनुपस्थिति, confirmation की उपस्थिति के बराबर नहीं है।
Basic BUY/SELL threshold से meaningfully ऊपर। Engine को setup पर असामान्य रूप से confident होना चाहिए — बस bullish नहीं झुक रहा, बल्कि इतना confident कि setup सामान्य से materially clean हो। Exact threshold user-tunable नहीं है जानबूझकर; calibration discipline तुम्हारे upstream रहती है।
दोनों का combination यही बनाता है + को दुर्लभ। अगर सिर्फ "तीन engines की सहमति" चाहते तो suffix ज्यादा बार आता। अगर सिर्फ "high probability" चाहते तो हर strong-trend continuation पर आता। दोनों को एक साथ require करना universe को उन setups तक filter करता है जहाँ सब कुछ align हुआ है। Design में, scanner की अधिकांश rows plain BUY, plain SELL, CONFLICT, या NEUTRAL होंगी। + उपहार है।
दो anchor moments
NIFTY 5m, जून का दूसरा हफ्ता, intraday।
14:20 IST। Indicator engine: bullish (weighted indicator score basic threshold से ऊपर, RSI 55 से ऊपर उठ रहा, MACD positive, EMA stack ऊपर की तरफ)। Candlestick engine: abstaining — latest candles पर कोई pattern fire नहीं हो रहा। Smart Money engine: bullish — price एक fresh bullish OB के अंदर है जो अभी तक mitigate नहीं हुआ। दो engines directional, दोनों aligned, एक abstaining। Quorum satisfied। Engine fires plain BUY। Candlestick engine की चुप्पी ने signal को block नहीं किया — बस + को दूर रखा। इस signal पर चलने वाला trader standard-size CE position लेता है।
14:35 IST, same instrument, पंद्रह minute बाद। वही Indicator engine still bullish। अब 5m chart पर एक Bullish Engulfing form हो गया है — Candlestick engine: bullish, directional, अब abstain नहीं कर रहा। Smart Money engine: still bullish (price OB के अंदर hold कर रहा)। तीनों engines directional, तीनों सहमत। Probability बढ़ी क्योंकि Candlestick layer ने confirmation जोड़ी। Cascade gate cleared। Engine fires BUY+। जिस trader के पास पहले से standard-size position है, उसके पास choice है — max-conviction allocation तक बढ़ाए, या existing position को ride करने दे।
दो signals, same direction, पंद्रह minute का अंतर। अलग conviction tiers क्योंकि नीचे engine state बदल गई। यही BUY और BUY+ के बीच के फर्क को structurally meaningful बनाता है, cosmetic नहीं।
यह लोगों की सोच से ज्यादा क्यों मायने रखता है
Indicator engine अकेले कभी-कभी बहुत confident दिख सकता है — 7 indicators aligned, weighted score high, regime context favorable। एक naive confluence model उस single-engine confidence को + signals drive करने देता। 3-engine model जानबूझकर नहीं देता। कारण empirical है: जहाँ तीनों independent engines सहमत हों, वो setups historically उन setups से materially बेहतर perform करते हैं जहाँ एक engine अकेले confident हो। Cascade gate उस empirical reality को capture करता है।
Cost यह है कि + signals दुर्लभ हैं। Benefit यह है कि जब दिखें, वो कुछ मतलब रखते हैं। एक scanner जो हर कुछ bars पर + signal produce करे, उसने या तो + की definition कमजोर कर दी है या उसकी कोई definition थी ही नहीं। हमारा नहीं करता, क्योंकि हमारा + एक structural label है, marketing label नहीं।

- Quorum rule तय करता है कि कोई signal fire होगा या नहीं: जब दो या अधिक engines directional हों, कम से कम दो को सहमत होना चाहिए। जब सिर्फ एक directional हो और बाकी abstain करें, वो अकेला engine plain BUY/SELL fire कर सकता है — कभी
